   The final reason why we have fallen prey to this hoax is that we are being used by computer tycoons to get richer . It is estimated that by the year 2004 (that's after all this will have been proven to be a hoax) Bill Gates will be the first trillionaire in history . The idea is fairly simple, the giant mega-corporations, and even some small businesses, are tricking us into thinking that the Y2K bug is a disaster because they want us to pay them money to solve an easily solved, if not non-existant, problem . It is basically a get-rich-quick scheme perpitrated by the computer industry .
